Many Downloads

I noticed that many people downloaded my music, yet few played the tracks. No one has made comments to me though. I do not know why so many would download my music. I'm not a terribly good musician. If the numbers are real, I might just put my music on Itunes and set it up so that 100% of money generated goes to charity automatically. If I can't find peace in my own mind I might as well do what I can to help in some way. Oh, and all karma points will be donated to those deserving as well. Does anyone have any comments? I will listen.

i think the same

I have the same doubts as you.
I have files with more than 50,000 downloads and 2 comments.
is that people download things for download, but not both.

I think some of the code on

I think some of the code on the site uses the download link to support streaming (RSS for example), so some of those downloads are likely just pure downloads and some are actually cases where the music is streamed.

The acquisition will enable selling!

The acquisition of Mix2r.com by MixMatchMusic will enable you to eventually sell your music via the combined entity. As far as the numbers, I find I often have more downloads than listens, something I find as an artist weird so I would bet that RSS counts. Nevertheless, there are definitely a lot of people who download. The raw logs of this site showed that we do an average of over 175 GB per month of downloads which adds up.

Now to monetize this for us!!!!
